The Marble Falls Area Volunteer Fire
Department was established in 1936
Our departments area of coverage is around 126 square Miles. We contract to supply Fire service to the City Of Meadowlakes,
and the Subdivision of Wilderness Cove on North Wirtz Dam Road. Additionally we cover the ETJ (Extra Territorial Jurisdiction)
of the City of Marble Falls, Texas which envelops the area about 1 mile outside the city limits as of the 2012 coverage map.
This was when ESD#6 was formed. We continue to mutual aid addition departments including: Bertram, Burnet, Cottonwood
Shores, Granite Shoals, Horseshoe Bay, City of Marble Falls, Spicewood, and Round Mountain in Blanco County, And North
Lake Travis in Travis County.

The original fire station was located in the 300 block of Main Street until 1998 when the station at 700 Avenue N was
constructed.  Early in 2000 the City began hiring firefighters and in 2002 formed the Marble Falls Fire/Rescue to serve inside the
City limits. The Volunteer Department drew up plans in late 2009 and built the station at 606 Ave. U. We moved  in June of 2010.
Marble Falls Area FD remains a separate entity which provides mutual aid to area cities and communities as needed.

In 2012 voters elected to form an E.S.D. (Emergency Services District)  The Marble Falls Area Volunteer Fire Department
serves ESD #6.

Burnet County population as of 2018 was 46,804.

Our Department has an ISO Rating of 5 for Meadowlakes and 8/9 out in County due to not having a water supply.
